il progetto mari
"Mari"
"Superfici segnate,
scritte, logorate, colorate, incise,
scalfite, sbiadite, modellate, create e cancellate,
semplicemente
dalle onde di ripetuti mari,
quotidiani, simili, irripetibili,
salati, riscaldati, profondi, ricchi,
trasparenti,
“Seas”
“Marked surfaces,
written down, worn out, coloured, carved,
grazed, faded, shaped, created and cancelled,
simply by waves of several seas,
daily, alike, unique,
salted, warmed up, deep, rich,
transparent,
in time.”
The project is based on the study of the surface of a small boat
abandoned on a roman beach.
The eye focuses on the details of the faded paint,
worn out by the sea and by time,
day by day,
travel after travel,
life after life,
that leaves images and signs of new meaning,
almost paintings
telling old and new stories
The photos tell the signs of everyday life - eternity of life,
on the surface of a boat,
like the skin marked by time and life ups and downs.
The bumping into a boat abandoned on the shore, a series of snap shots of a surface marked by time, paint, putty, cracks, voices that at the same time tell you about sailing, reaching new hopes, of a dramatic shipwreck.
Francesca Lepori’s work, Seas, consist of a series of pictures focused on details relevant to a small boat no longer in use. These pictures are muched together by the artist, and lead us to a journey through the fragments of different stories set among landscapes wich are now surrealistic, now dramatic, stories written by t due to multiple sea crossings.
